Beyond Rhizome: Artist Workshop
On Saturday, July 12th, Movement Rhizome, in collaboration with Good Life X, successfully concluded the one-day workshop for The Routes We Take – Kandy Regional Exhibition at Alliance Française, Kandy. Facilitated by the esteemed Dr. Sunil Wijesiriwardana and Prof. Sudesh Mantillake, the workshop offered an immersive space to explore the relationship between art, ecology, and regional identity. Participants from diverse creative disciplines came together to reflect, move, discuss, and co-create—laying the foundation for what promises to be a deeply resonant exhibition. Officially Partners with Good Life X
We’re honored to be collaborating with GLX for the Kandy edition of The Routes We Take! This journey is a meaningful step for Movement Rhizome, as we continue to shape living pedagogies rooted in interdependence, mindfulness, and transformation. Inspired by rhizomatic thinking, Buddhist philosophy, and process-based approaches to knowledge, we believe in learning through connection, sensing, and doing, not in straight lines, but in tangled, beautiful pathways. With this partnership, we’re co-creating a space where art, community, and care intersect, inviting Kandy-based artists, educators, and dreamers to explore what it means to regenerate, reimagine, and re-root, together. Let’s walk these…

One Year Since Movement Rhizome 2024.02: International Conference on Dance Studies!
A year ago, we embarked on a journey that went beyond academic discussions, Movement Rhizome 2024.02 was a space where dance, research, and practice intertwined like a growing rhizome. What made this conference unique was its inclusive and interdisciplinary nature. Movement Rhizome recognized various abilities and disabilities, ensuring a disability-friendly platform where research and creation coexisted. Alongside traditional oral and poster presentations, we introduced performance-based presentations in…
